FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Why would someone pay me to play games?

The Gaming industry is a business; each business wants to sell a product that it's consumers will like and recommend to others. If a game company sells games that they do not test, what do you suspect will happen? The untested games will have bugs in them and most customers will find those bugs and return those games due to all the glitches and this game company will not make any money. A business that does not make any money will not be in business for long. If a Game company pays 100 people to test their games and because of their testing 100,000 people will NOT return that game, this company has just made a profit.

2. How can I be assured that the companies are really going to pay me?

You will have to use your discretion here, but I highly doubt that companies that you've heard of will not pay you. You can always sue.

3. Am I limited to only my home computer, can I test on my laptop at a coffee shop?

You do not need to test only from your home computer. You can test from anywhere as long as the game is up and running. If you have a super duper laptop that has two video cards you can test from a local coffee shop if you wish. As long as you can run the game...

4. Is there a limit to how many games I can beta test, or how much money I can make?

The only limit to how many games you can play/test and the amount of money you can make is your time. If you wish to put full-time effort into beta testing, then you will make more money. Your income will be completely dependent on your effort and attentiveness.

5. What is the method through which I'll be paid? How often will I be paid?

This will depend on the company that you work for. Most companies pay bi-weekly by check or direct deposit. You will have to talk with the Human Resources department of that company about further details.
6. Are there jobs available for residents of Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia, Africa, or other countries?

You can become a Game Tester no matter where you live.

7. How do I know that this is not a SCAM?

I understand that there are some shady companies out there -- so to the toughest critics: If you have doubts about the guides we recommend they all offer you an 8-week money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with it after you've given it a serious try they will refund your purchase 100% though they will not allow you to purchase it again in the future.

8. I'm don't like giving out my credit card number online. What guaranties do you offer that my credit card number will stay with your company and not be sold to someone else?

The billing for your credit card is done through a High-grade Encryption (AES-256, 256bit). Furethermore, our credit card transactions are done through ClickBank.com - this company works with over 100,000 different websites. No one but ClickBank.com will see your credit card.

For added security you can also pay via PayPal.com if you wish.

9. Is a job guaranteed?

No, The Recommended guides will help you land a job but it does not guarantee a job. Since you will work for Big Name Game companies that produce the games and not for any of the merchant guides, I can not guarantee you a job.

10. What platforms / gaming systems do I get to test the games on?

It really depends on the job. M****soft for example, has testing on both the XBOX and the PC. The job that you land will dictate the platform that you will need to test games on.

11. What if I don't have all the platforms? Will I be provided with a new XBOX 360, PS2, PS3, etc? What if I have a slow computer?

This will depend on the company. The job description will dictate whether you will be provided with a new system (if you don't have it) or whether having the new system is a requirement to land the job. This will be disclosed to you when you apply for the job.

12. I don't have a credit card, can I pay by money order, check, or cash?

Unfortunately I do not accept money orders, checks, or cash. You can only pay via a credit card or Paypal -- If you have a checking account you can sign up with paypal.com and then by paying via paypal attain membership.

13. Is there an age requirement?

Yes, there is. In order to apply for a job you MUST be 18 years of age or older, there are no exceptions. This is due to child labor laws.
